About BuildAPrompt

BuildAPrompt is a directory of 2,045 AI prompts, organized into 12 categories, each one built around the same idea: a good prompt shouldn’t have to be rewritten from scratch every time.

Most of these prompts started life as plain text — copy, paste, edit by hand. We parsed out the parts people actually change (a name, a language, a tone, a target audience) and turned them into real form fields, so the same prompt can be reused for a dozen different situations without retyping the boilerplate around it.

On top of that, the builder can wrap a prompt in a proven prompting technique — Chain-of-Thought, Few-shot, Directional Stimulus, and a few others — pulled from published prompt-engineering research rather than invented here.

Nothing is stored server-side. Field values live in your browser’s local storage, tied to the prompt you’re editing, so they’re there when you come back — and gone if you clear your browser data.
